Galápagos Redefined was born from a lifetime spent among these islands. For more than 35 years, our family has guided travelers through the archipelago — sharing its natural history, reading its seasons, and experiencing its landscapes and wildlife first-hand, as only those who grew up here can.

Few people have seen the Galápagos from as many angles as our guides. Over the decades they have led expedition cruises across every route of the archipelago, private day expeditions from the inhabited islands, highland journeys through the misty Scalesia forests where giant tortoises roam free, and dives among hammerhead schools at the edges of the marine reserve.
Each of these ways of exploring taught them something the others could not — and together they form a knowledge of the islands that no single itinerary could ever provide.

Our purpose has always extended beyond travel. We created our own foundation, dedicated to educating people — visitors and islanders alike — about the Galápagos and the species that make them unique, because the more deeply these islands are understood, the more fiercely they will be protected.
The Galápagos, told from within.
For nearly two centuries, the story of the Galápagos has been written by visitors — from Charles Darwin to the European and American naturalists who followed him. Samuel's book is different: it is the only book on the islands written by a naturalist born and raised in the archipelago itself.
Available as an ebook, it is the first step of a far larger project — a vision of sharing Galápagos knowledge from the inside, so that everyone who encounters these islands leaves understanding why they must be preserved.
